In General - Laos is landlocked and shares the borders in the north with China, in the east with Vietnam, in the south with Cambodia and in the west with Thailand and Myanmar. Laos has been known since ancient times as Lan Xang, or Land of the Million Elephants. Compared to the other hectic, bustling capitals in Southeast Asia, Vientiane's deliciously relaxing atmosphere makes it feel like the small town it is. Vientiane is stretched out on the eastern bank of the Mekong River. The unassuming capital, is situated on its banks, and the city provides a comfortable introduction to the charms of the country.

Laos Vientiane Nightlife - Most of the bars and pubs can be found near the capital city Vientiane. Vientiane Nightlife has a number of many open-air beer gardens on the riverside, are good for relaxing and watching the sunsets over Mekong River. Most of the bar scene is in the hotels. Bars, pubs and a few nightclubs stay open past midnight. By law, all entertainment places are supposed to close by 11.30 pm and most clubs obey. Vienglatry May, on Thanon Lan Xang, is open until midnight and still the most popular place in town. In Vienglatry May you can find a lot of beautiful Laos girls. Some other recommended bars and discos are: Future disco that was one of my favorites, Bucket Bar, Sticky Fingers Bar, Samlo Pub, Blue Sky Bar, Smile Bar, Barhopping and Chess Cafe.
Prostitution is illegal in Laos and you need to be careful for don't get hustled by police for having sex with a Lao woman and destroy your holidays. Lao girls like Europeans, but unfortunately they don't speak good English, freelancers are usually more fun. I found it easy to get a free girl in Vientiane. By the way, prostitutes prices are about 30 to 40 dollars. Note: most girls who work in the streets, bars and discos of Bangkok Phuket and Pattaya come from Northeast Thailand and are ethnic Lao. So if you don't have luck with women in Laos and you defiantly want to try a Lao girl, just go to Thailand.
