Lima In General -
Lima
Peru is without question the financial and industrial hub of the
country,
It is a city rich in
culture and things to do and see.
Founded on January 18,
1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco
Pizarro and named
as City of Kings.
During the colonial time, it was the
most important city in South America,
located on the central western coast
and is known for
being covered in fog most of the year.
Is
a modern city which, while constantly expanding. Lima
gained primary importance in 1542, when it was declared the capital
of the Viceroyalty of Peru,
Lima is for sure
the entrance door to Peru.
Miraflores Nightlife
-
When I arrive to Lima I thought that is not going to be
nightlife at all, well I was totally wrong. Lima have one of the most
vibrate nightlife in South America and Lima
nightlife scene spreads
to almost every area of town.
Some of the most
cool places to hang out in Lima after dark are located in the
district of Miraflores. In
Miraflores, there are some cool outdoor
cafes, salsa clubs and great
restaurants. Peru is famous throughout South America for
its food. Most visitors will be pleasantly
surprised with the relative complexity of Peruvian dishes.
Peru is a mix of indigenous influences and those of the country’s
immigrants. As a major fishing nation, fish is abundant, and
prepared with imagination.
For sure you have
to try some
traditional Peruvian dishes like
Pescado y Mariscos
a mix of Fish and Seafood.
Comida
Criolla,
and
Pachamanca: a typical dish from the
desert.
The Kennedy park is
also good choice to start your evening, usually
is full of young
people
that they are flirting around,
musicians playing creole
music and
the romantic locals dancing and having fan.
Kennedy park have
also a night market and people from all ages come here to
buy some souvenirs. For start,
I enjoyed some early evening drinks such
as pisco sours at Rustica bar-restaurant. And later I went to check
the renowned lima Casinos.
For lovers of
casinos and
gambling is the best place to be, to name some:
Is the Casino La
Hacienda, Latin
American Casino
Del Peru.
Admiral Mirage Casino,
Casino Divercentro Las Vegas,
JW Marriot Hotel
& Stellaris Casino
and Casino Palacio Royal.
The live music bars and clubs
opposite the Parque Kennedy
in the Calle de las pizzas district
is where most of the tourist go, although the place is packed with
locals as well, especially on weekends. The best time to visit Lima
for nightlife is on Christmas and new year eve, the clubs and
bars are full, as all young Peruvians go out to dance, by the
way, I never saw in any other country that I visit people to dance so
much. Some of the most famous bars and clubs on around
Parque Kennedy and
the Calle de
las pizzas
district is:
Bizarro bar,
Bizarro bar
is a good
salsa bar with
great atmosphere and dance floor.
Tequila Rock,
Tequila Rock
mostly plays Latin music and some hip hop
with Dance Floor
as well. Not all but many girls are prostitutes there.
Huaringas,
Lava Lounge
and Bobo bar
are also good with special
drinks and particular schedule.
Larcomar
shopping center is located 20 minutes walking from
Kennedy park
and there are many good and must see
bars and clubs,
Mama
Batata Bar, Bartini
Bar, and 2 of the best
nightclubs
in Lima
that play all types of music
including electronic, Gothica and
Aura clubs are there.
Bartini Bar on
Tuesday is a good option if you like electronic music.
But note that most of the girls there are prostitutes.

Down Town Nightlife
- Lima downtown
nightlife have also some really good bars and clubs,
but the area can be sometimes dangerous, so I recommend you go
with local there. Some of the best clubs there are: The Dream
House club, El Al Macen club, and new filling
disco club, new filling disco club, have good Latin music
and good drinks. Katmandu club is also good, but little
dangerous and can be scary and disturbing for few, and last the
Tequila Rock 2, is one of the best and most popular
nightclubs in Lima. This downtown discotheque is also
considered the largest hooker's market in Lima.
Tequila Rocks opens 365 nights of the year and have a lot of
happenings.
Barranco
Nightlife -
Barranco, is located
Right next to Miraflores
in south of Lima. Barranco
is the bohemian district of Lima
and is a popular
neighborhood for nightlife. Walking around
Barranco, you will find countless restaurants,
cafes, and
discos. Barranco have also a night market
where many festivals
take place.
The market closes down around 9 pm, so you
must go early to soak up the festive atmosphere. This
backpacker night market is a must see. Barranco
Nightlife is also dominated by
the many live shows of Peruvian jazz, rock and blues bands.
Some of the most famous bars in
Barranco
are: Bar La Noche de Barranco,
El Dragón, Mochileros
Bar and Bodega Bar Juanitos.
