Also note that some clubs and bars don’t welcome those who are too casually dressed. Pubs are generally open Monday to Saturday 11:00 to 23:30 and Sunday 12:00/16:00 to 23:00, although some serve until 0200. Usually Dublin Clubs close at about 02:30, but some stay open a little later, and most of them have a cover charge, sometimes between €15-20 on weekends. The trendy Temple Bar area is the district most associated with the city’s best Dublin nightlife hotspots and vibe. running between the Bank of Ireland and Christ Church Cathedral. In the 18th century the area was home to many insalubrious characters-Fownes Street was noted for its brothels. The cobbled streets of Temple Bar Area turn into a magnet at night for plenty of very drunk tourists and a fair few locals as well. Temple bar area has the reputation of being touristy, crowded, and over priced. Another great nightlife area is the Grafton Street side. The Grafton Street side of things provides a much quieter and relaxed alternative to the chaos of Temple Bar Area, attracting a different type of crowd.
Nightclubs in Dublin are becoming a bit scarce lately, this is due to the influx of the ‘Super Pubs’. Since the new licencing laws were brought in these Super Pubs have begun to replace nightclubs.
