Kanchanaburi is not like Pattaya or Phuket, but has a “respected” nightlife scene, especially at weekends. You can start your evening with shopping at Kanchanaburi night market or with a dinner near the river, as there are numerous small inexpensive restaurants…
I promise you, the food in Kanchanaburi is really good and cheap, both European and Thai. Also the floating restaurants at the river side is a must see! The River Kwai Road or Mae Nam Khwae is were all the Kanchanaburi nightlife action concentrated.
British style bars and pubs, local karaoke bars and floating discos. Kanchanaburi bars and pubs are mainly for backpackers tourists, but there are also a few girly bars for sex tourists. Some guesthouses also have their own bars, but most of them are empty especially at low season. Bars and pubs are mostly for the backpackers tourist’s and the floating discos for Thais, I like both.
